When the chips are down,
And you feel low,
Think of good things from the past,
That happened with you until the last.
Remember how you fought the storm,
Each time you battled and broke the norm,
Now the time is here,
That you pull up the strings,
Back to the motion of the curvy ride,
In a swing, they call life.
Good times, bad times, they come in waves,
Sometimes for a while, at other times for many days,
What sets you apart is the desire to win,
Constantly or until you're too old to be seen,
Life's agonies don't always persist,
Small wins are encouragement,
Bigger wins may be hard to come by,
But celebrate each small victory,
As though life shall cease soon after.
Never underestimate the need to remain satisfied,
With life's offerings though it may not be justified,
Each day is a gift,
Not for you to win alone,
But for you to experience the ride,
Take what may come,
And leave ambitions aside,
The hardest sailings are not always amidst the low tide,
But the high ones that shine in the full moon.
